Harley-Davidson recalls more than 9,000 motorcycles

Harley-Davidson has recalled 9,102 2013-14 Softail Breakout FXSB and CVO Breakout FXSBSE motorcycles due to a fuel gauge inaccuracy.

In the affected units, suspension variances may affect the gas tank mounting angle, leading the fuel level sensor to read inaccurately. The inaccuracy may cause the motorcycle to unexpectedly run out of fuel, possibly even before the Low Fuel Warning lamp illuminates, causing the bike to stall.

Harley will be notifying owners of the affected bikes, and dealers will be updating the software to recalibrate the fuel level sensor signal.
