Pagel will work with SEMA CEO Mike Spagnola, the association’s Board of Directors and its executive leadership team to align business strategy with SEMA’s mission and organizational priorities. His responsibilities will span marketing, sales, membership, events and revenue management, with a focus on strengthening member value and supporting continued investment in industry programs and services.

“Brian brings the experience, industry knowledge, and strategic mindset needed to help SEMA deliver even greater value to our members and the broader specialty-equipment community,” Spagnola said in a statement.

Pagel joins SEMA after serving as executive vice president at Emerald, where he led business development efforts involving strategic association partnerships, acquisition opportunities and a portfolio of 64 B2B trade shows, hosted buyer events, conferences and related assets.

In his new role, Pagel will help develop and implement a multi-year strategy aligned with SEMA’s organizational goals. He will also establish performance metrics, support membership growth and retention, and work with department leaders on planning, goal setting and operational priorities.

“I’m honored to join SEMA and support its work on behalf of the specialty-equipment industry,” Pagel says. “SEMA has a powerful mission, a passionate membership, and an important role in helping businesses innovate, grow, and succeed.”

Pagel will report to Spagnola and serve as a member of SEMA’s senior leadership team. The appointment comes as SEMA continues to expand its role in supporting businesses (including powersports) across the specialty-equipment industry, including through events, education, research, advocacy and networking opportunities. The association represents more than 7,000 member companies and produces the annual SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
