Properly equipped ATVs now street legal in one Utah city

A Utah city has moved to allow ATVs to drive on city streets if they’re properly equipped.

The city, Salem, Utah, is taking advantage of a state law that allows ATVs on city streets, according to the Deseret News.

To be licensed for city streets, the ATVs would have to have headlights, taillights, a lighted license plate and a windshield, which is optional if the driver is wearing a helmet.

ATV drivers would need a Utah driver’s license and probably two registrations, one for off-road use and one for the street, according to the Deseret News report.
