Oct. 13, 2008 – Honda unveils 2009 motorcycle models
American Honda’s Powersports Division has announced the release of its 2009 on-road motorcycles.
The announcement follows earlier releases of Honda’s 2009 off-road motorcycles, ATVs, MUV and Ruckus and Metropolitan scooters.
Following are briefs of Honda’s 2009 models:
DN-01
The DN-01 combines the elements of a sport bike, cruiser comfort and automatic transmission. Features include digital fuel injection; a four-valve, 680cc liquid-cooled V-twin engine; Combined ABS braking system; and an HFT transmission, which Honda says sets the DN-01 apart. Available colors include Candy Dark Red and Black. MSRP is $14,599.
Gold Wing
The Gold Wing 1800 features both a tire pressure monitoring system and XM radio. Available colors include Candy Black Cherry, Pearl Yellow, Metallic Silver, Deep Blue Metallic and Metallic Titanium. MSRP is $20,999-$25,599.
CRF230M
The CRF230M is street-ready, with 17-inch wheels and low-profile tires, along with a 223cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, four-stroke electric-start engine. Available in Black. MSRP is $4,749.
VTX1300
The VTX1300 features V-twin torque and offers distinctive custom styling variations. Available colors include Titanium, Dark Blue Metallic, Metallic Red and Black (VTX1300C); Metallic Silver, Metallic Black and Bright Blue Metallic (VTX1300R); Dark Red, Titanium and Black (VTX1300T). MSRP is $9,899-$11,399.
ST1300/ST1300 ABS
The ST1300 features a liquid-cooled 1,261cc V-4 engine with programmed fuel injection. Available in Candy Dark Red. MSRP is $14,599 ($15,699 ABS).
CBR1000RR/CBR1000RR ABS
This model is available with Honda’s Combined ABS brake system. The Repsol Edition (Blue/White/Orange/Red), Pearl White/Light Silver Metallic, Black and Red/Black has an MSRP of $11,999-$12,499; the ABS version is available in Red/Black, with an MSRP of $12,999.
Interceptor/Interceptor ABS
The Interceptor sport touring model features a V-4 VTEC engine, and is available with an optional ABS system. Available in Black. MSRP is $10,999-$11,999 (ABS).
Shadow Spirit 750 C2
This model combines street-rod styling with a muscular V-twin engine. Available colors in Candy Dark Red, Pearl White/Silver Pinstripe, Pearl Black/Red Pinstripe, Black. MSRP is $6,999-$7,299.
Shadow Aero
This model features retro styling, low seat height and a V-twin engine. Available colors include Metallic Titanium/White, Pearl Blue/Metallic Silver, Black/Snakeskin Pattern, Candy Dark Red and Black. MSRP is $6,999-$7,299.
CBR600RR/CBR600RR ABS
The CBR600RR is now available with Combined ABS. Colors include Red/Black, Black/Bright Green Metallic, Metallic Black, Phoenix, Pearl White/Pearl Blue/Red. MSRP is $9,799-$10,099 (Phoenix). The CBR600RR Combined ABS is available in Red/Black and Metallic Black, with an MSRP of $10,799.
Rebel
This model is designed for entry-level street bike riders. Available colors include Ultra Blue Metallic and Black. MSRP is $3,399. psb
