The annual outdoor power equipment and landscaping trade show runs Oct. 20-23 at the Kentucky Exposition Center. For powersports dealers, the event offers a chance to evaluate whether lawn and landscape equipment, commercial-grade utility vehicles and related products could expand their dealership’s customer base and sales opportunities.

Friday offers a final opportunity to visit the show floor, compare equipment and connect with manufacturers.

One of the show’s major attractions is its 30-acre Outdoor Demo Yard, where attendees can operate equipment and compare machines before making purchasing decisions. The exhibit halls feature developments in battery-powered equipment, compact machinery, robotics, connected products and software.

The UTV Driving Experience offers another potential draw for powersports dealers. Participants can drive and compare vehicles on a test track featuring curves, hills, rocks, bumps and other obstacles, accompanied by a manufacturer’s representative. (Drivers must be at least 16 years old and hold a valid driver’s license.)

New product introductions also will highlight the event. Exhibitors are showcasing battery-powered equipment, charging technology, autonomous mowing, alternative fuels, attachments and maintenance products.

The Propane Education & Research Council will feature propane-powered mowers and utility vehicles, along with a demonstration of its cylinder-exchange fueling process. Its Propane Landscape Demonstration Program allows applicants to test propane-powered equipment on their own routes for 10 days.

Beyond equipment, the show will address business challenges facing outdoor power equipment professionals, including labor shortages, profit margins, productivity and customer acquisition.

“Landscapers aren’t just coming to Equip this year to see what’s new – they’re here to learn how to compete and thrive given uncertainty around interest rates, fuel costs, immigration policy and many other key drivers of our industry,” says Kris Kiser, president and CEO of the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute, which owns and manages Equip Exposition.

For dealers, a (free) Friday visit could help identify potential new product lines, compare competing utility vehicles and make manufacturer contacts before committing to inventory. Dealers serving rural customers, property owners and commercial operators may find the strongest overlap with the show’s equipment categories.

Dealers can find event information and registration details at Equip Exposition.
