Powersports of Utica acquires dealership, adds four major lines

Two large upstate New York dealerships have recently consolidated, according to a report from a local TV station. Powersports of Utica of has acquired DDS Motor Sports, also of Utica, due to the planned retirement of Sam Girmonde.

“As our kids got older, we have grandchildren on the way and other interests, and we wanted a little bit less stress and a more relaxed pace in life. So we decided a couple of years ago to pursue retirement,” said Sam Girmonde, DDS Motor Sports owner of 33 years, in an interview with WKTV News Channel 2 of Utica.

Joe Carbone, owner of Powersports of Utica, was excited to combine the two dealerships, the station reported. Both the staff and the inventory of DDS Motor Sports are now located in Harley-Davidson of Utica, totaling nine certified technicians at the dealership. BRP, Kawasaki, Yamaha and CFMoto are now carried at the dealership.
