2027 WMX schedule features six rounds alongside Pro Motocross
The SMX League has announced the 2027 schedule for the Women’s Motocross Championship powered by Synchrony (WMX), with six rounds scheduled alongside the Pro Motocross Championship and a return of the WMX Invitational at the SMX World Championship Final.

The 2027 season will open May 28-29 at Pala Raceway in Southern California, with the championship making stops at six Pro Motocross venues before concluding Aug. 27-28 at Ironman Raceway in Indiana.
The schedule includes an opening three-round stretch in California and Colorado before a summer break. Racing resumes in August at Unadilla MX in New York, followed by Budds Creek Motocross Park in Maryland and the season finale at Ironman.
“After a groundbreaking season in 2026, the WMX is poised for another historic campaign in 2027 as the championship profile continues to grow and become a destination for the best women’s racers from across the globe,” says Christina Denney, WMX series director for MX Sports Pro Racing.
The 2027 WMX schedule

The WMX Invitational will return Sept. 25 as part of the SMX World Championship Final. The postseason event will feature more than a dozen top women’s racers competing on a hybrid track incorporating elements of Supercross and Pro Motocross. The venue has not yet been announced.
Reigning three-time WMX champion Lachlan Turner will return in 2027 in pursuit of a fourth consecutive title. Australian rider Charli Cannon, who has finished second in the championship in each of the past two seasons, is expected to be among her primary challengers.
Mikayla Nielsen, who has recorded consecutive podium finishes in the championship, and newcomer Mayla Herrick, who is scheduled to contest the full WMX season for the first time, also are expected to be part of the field. Denney said the series expects additional international competitors following the 2026 season, which featured four major champions competing against one another.
