Inaugural Power 50 dealers named at AIMExpo

Awards Dinner in Orlando launches new program

While Go AZ Motorcycles of Scottsdale, Ariz., took home honors as the No. 1 dealer in North America for 2013, dozens of other dealerships can look back on the year knowing that their innovative approaches to growing their businesses and enhancing customer service set them apart from thousands of others.

At the Power 50 Dealer Awards Dinner held during AIMExpo in Orlando, Powersports Business editors Liz Keener and Tom Kaiser joined me as emcees of an event that was launched to help dealerships gain a better understanding of their annual performance level.

“Wow, what a great night.”

“It is a great honor to have our dealership on the prestigious list of dealers. Our unique customer experience and passion for motorsports set us apart in the market, and our hard work has been paid off with this honor.”

Those were the first two pieces of feedback provided to PSB. Several others followed.

Dealers sitting alongside each other at tables shared business insights and got to know each other better. A well-attended Power 50 cocktail reception got started earlier than anticipated due to the early arrival of several dealers. Many dealers were heard discussing topics related training sessions they had attended earlier in the day at the Powersports Business Institute @ AIMExpo, which was sponsored by ADP Lightspeed.

Roy Olivier, president and CEO of Power 50 sponsor ARI Network Services, Inc., shared his thoughts about those dealerships being honored, and acknowledged the level of excellence that each dealership had obtained in order to be a member of the Power 50.

Of course, it’s the powersports industry and it’s PSB, so we made certain to have some fun. Be sure to complete the Power 50 application in 2014, and you just might be able to see what you missed in 2014. The application was impressive and exhaustive, but dealers told us they appreciated its depth and breadth.

After having dinner alongside their Power 50 peers, dealers spent the bulk of the night listening to a presentation that highlighted the accomplishments of those in attendance.

As part of the Power 50, we also selected the Top 5. Those included No. 2 Coleman PowerSports of Virginia, No. 3 Logan Powersports Group of West Virginia, No. 4 DeLand Motorsports of Florida and No. 5 A.D. Farrow Co. Harley-Davidson Family of Dealerships in Ohio.

Additionally, Best in Class awards went to the following dealerships:
