J.D. Power webinar to examine F&I data overload and dealer decision-making
J.D. Power is launching a new Dealer Solutions webinar series focused on helping dealers turn the growing amount of F&I data available to them into actionable business decisions.

The inaugural webinar, “The F&I Data Trap: Moving Beyond Data Overload,” is scheduled for Oct. 8 at 11:30 a.m. EDT and will focus primarily on automotive dealerships. However, the topics covered — including F&I reporting, dashboard utilization, performance benchmarking and identifying actionable trends — could also be relevant to powersports dealers looking to improve their F&I operations.
Chris Sutton, senior vice president of customer success for Dealer Solutions at J.D. Power, will be joined by Jason Allen, director of customer success, and Nick Stafford, customer success manager.
The session will address three primary questions:
- What retail trends are emerging across new, used, and F&I?
- How should dealers structure F&I reporting and dashboards to drive action rather than simply display numbers?
- What menu capabilities are dealers already paying for but may not be fully utilizing?
According to J.D. Power, dealerships are collecting more F&I data than ever, but having access to more information does not necessarily translate into better decisions.
“F&I data is everywhere in the dealership, but insight is harder to find,” Sutton says. “Systems track what’s happening, sales volumes, product mix, performance trends. But that’s not the same as knowing what to do next.”
The webinar will include a demonstration of J.D. Power’s F&I dashboard, along with guidance on using the company’s available tools to identify performance opportunities. J.D. Power also says the platform is being updated with additional functionality, including planned artificial intelligence capabilities.
The company says the webinar is intended for dealers and dealer-group leadership, F&I agencies and professionals, small and medium-sized dealerships, and managers responsible for F&I performance. While J.D. Power’s announcement is directed toward the automotive retail market, the emphasis on using data to identify trends, benchmark performance and make faster decisions offers potential takeaways for powersports dealerships as well.
