The A42 is set to be released in countries worldwide on a rolling basis beginning Jan. 1, 2027, Bridgestone says. The company did not specify a U.S. launch date or pricing in its press release. The new tire succeeds the Battlax Adventure A41 and is designed to improve wet-road performance, tread life and riding comfort for trips ranging from city commutes to long-distance touring.

In internal testing, Bridgestone says the A42 reduced tire slip under straight-line acceleration by 14% compared with the A41. The company also reports an 18% increase in front tire wear life, a 25% increase in rear tire wear life and a 15% reduction in tire noise. The comparisons were based on tests using 120/70R19 front and 170/60R17 rear tires.

The A42 uses new front and rear tread compounds intended to balance wet grip and wear resistance.

The A42 uses new front and rear tread compounds intended to balance wet grip and wear resistance. Its revised tread pattern incorporates Bridgestone’s Pulse Groove water drainage technology, while changes to the groove layout are designed to improve tread stiffness and reduce noise. Additional front and rear sizes are scheduled for 2028.

For dealers serving adventure touring customers, the A42 adds a new replacement tire option for riders who prioritize pavement performance and longer tread life.
