Ural exported 95 percent of bikes in 2013

The Ural factory in Russia produced 1,206 motorcycles in 2013, according to the company’s Irbit Informer newsletter. Of those, 1,151 (95 percent) were exported. Sidecar motorcycles made up 98 percent of the production, with 2 percent solo bikes.

Ural sold 604 motorcycles at retail in 2013 in the U.S., its largest market, ahead of Germany, France, Canada and Australia. In the U.S., the Gear Up model made up nearly half the sales.

Model-year 2014 Urals will be available in February at the following dealerships: BMW North Dallas in Texas; Bumpus Harley-Davidson in Tennessee; Dream Machines in Texas; Gulf Coast BMW in Texas; Heindl Engineering in Ohio; Hymark Motorsports in Colorado; Motorcycles of Charlotte in North Carolina; Motorsports Superstore in Alabama; Raceway Ural in Oregon; South Sound BMW in Washington; St. Croix Harley-Davidson in Wisconsin; Triquest Motorcycles & Sidecars in California; Unique Rides in Colorado; Ural New England in Massachusetts; Ural Portland in Oregon; and Holopaw Ural in Florida.
