Bimota returns to U.S. with five limited-production motorcycles
After more than a decade away from the U.S. market, Italian motorcycle manufacturer Bimota is returning with a limited-production lineup that blends the brand’s hand-built approach with Kawasaki performance and technology.
Bimota has announced that five models will be available in the United States through exclusive distributor and dealer Bimota Spirit: the KB998 Rimini, Tesi H2, Tesi H2 TERA, KB4 and KB4RC. The first two models are available now, while the remaining three are expected to arrive later this year.
The move expands Bimota’s U.S. presence under its partnership with Kawasaki (which acquired a 49.9% share of the company in 2019). Founded in Rimini, Italy, in 1973, Bimota has built its reputation around limited-production motorcycles featuring distinctive chassis designs, premium components and hand-finished construction.
Bimota’s U.S. lineup
Leading the return is the KB998 Rimini, a World Superbike-derived machine powered by a 998cc inline-four engine based on the Kawasaki superbike platform. The motorcycle features a chromium-molybdenum steel trellis frame, billet aluminum swingarm, Showa suspension, Brembo M50 brakes, Marchesini forged wheels and carbon-fiber bodywork. Bimota also highlights the model’s variable winglets, which it says are the first fitted to a production motorcycle.
The Tesi H2 takes a very different approach, pairing Kawasaki’s 998cc supercharged inline-four with Bimota’s signature center-hub steering system. The motorcycle uses aluminum swingarms, a carbon-fiber front bridge, Öhlins suspension and carbon-fiber bodywork, along with Kawasaki’s electronic rider-aid package.
The Tesi H2 TERA applies the Tesi concept to a crossover-oriented motorcycle. It combines the center-hub steering system and Kawasaki’s supercharged 998cc engine with longer-distance capability, adjustable ergonomics, Öhlins suspension, Brembo brakes and lightweight OZ Racing forged wheels.
Rounding out the lineup are the KB4 and KB4RC, both powered by Kawasaki’s 1,043cc inline-four engine.
The KB4 draws styling inspiration from Bimota’s 1978 KB1 while using a compact chassis, rear-mounted radiator and centralized mass to create a short-wheelbase package. It also features Öhlins suspension, Brembo brakes, carbon-fiber bodywork and Kawasaki electronic rider aids.
The KB4RC takes the same basic platform in a café racer-inspired naked configuration. It features more upright ergonomics, a round LED headlight and exposed air intakes, while retaining the KB4’s engine, compact chassis and premium suspension and brake components.
Bimota Spirit handles U.S. sales
Bimota Spirit, founded by longtime Bimota enthusiast Bob Steinbugler, will serve as the brand’s exclusive U.S. dealer. The North Carolina-based operation offers new and classic Bimota motorcycles, parts and service, along with an extensive collection of Bimota history and memorabilia.
According to the announcement, Bimota Spirit currently has limited-production KB998 Rimini and Tesi H2 motorcycles available nationwide. The Tesi H2 TERA, KB4 and KB4RC are expected to arrive in late 2026.
Bimota’s return represents a highly exclusive addition to the U.S. motorcycle market, with the Kawasaki relationship providing the performance foundation while Bimota retains its focus on exotic chassis engineering, Italian craftsmanship and limited production.
