Another Ban Defeated

In what continues to be a tidal wave of good news in terms of PWC bans, Oklahoma’s Chickasaw National Recreation Area welcomed the return of PWC to park waters as of Sept. 2. Chickasaw, which as a result of the settlement between Bluewater Network and the National Park Service had not seen PWC on its waters since late 2002, completed their environmental assessment in the spring of 2003 and allowed public comment during two separate periods, the first following the initial assessment and the second following publication of the proposed draft ruling. The final rule allows PWC to return with only minimal restrictions.
