Kawi Establishes New Subsidiary in U.S.
Kawasaki Precision Machinery Ltd. (KPM), a subsidiary of Japan’s Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd., recently established a subsidiary to sell hydraulic components in the United States.
KPM has been selling hydraulic components through the sales division of Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A., Irvine, Calif.
Kawasaki said hydraulic component sales in the U.S. have nearly quadrupled in the 10 years since the product was launched. The new subsidiary, Kawasaki Precision Machinery (U.S.A.), Inc., Grand Rapids, Michigan, is expected to enhance KPM’s managerial decision-making processes and resource allocation.
KPM now has three major bases: its headquarters and main factory in Kobe, Japan; KPM (USA); and KPM (UK). The three will work with subsidiaries Flutek, Ltd. in Korea and KPM (China), which begins operations in August 2006.
