Japan’s Production, Exports Up in August
Japan’s four main motorcycle manufacturers produced 125,885 units in August, up 13.9% compared to the production of 110,501 units in August 2004, said the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA).
According to JAMA figures, Honda produced 42,151 units in Japan, up from 36,086 units produced in August 2004; Kawasaki produced 21,159, up from 15,907; Suzuki produced 33,730, up from 23,046; and Yamaha produced 28,820, down from 35,439.
For the period from January 2005 through August 2005, manufacturers produced 1,140,389 units, up from 1,109,020 units produced during the same eight-month period in 2004. Honda produced 382,256 units, up from 375,298 units in 2004; Kawasaki produced 142,033, up from 136,713; Suzuki produced 310,608, up from 247,462; and Yamaha produced 305,204, down from 349,284.
