Motocross bike sales push Suzuki to strong May
Suzuki Motor of America, Inc. (SMAI) reports to Powersports Business that consumers are taking advantage of a generous retail promotion around the company’s popular RM-Z motorcycles. SMAI sales are up 13 percent for May, and 21 percent for the year, compared to 2012 sales (reported by American Suzuki Motor Corp.).
“The 50th Anniversary RM-Z Sales Event gave consumers Suzuki’s industry leading zero-percent financing (covering all regular finance tiers) plus their choice of Yoshimura exhausts (including Yoshimura accessories), or $600 Customer Cash back on the purchase of any new 2013/2012 RM-Z450 or RM-Z250,” said Rod Lopusnak, general manager-national sales for SMAI. “Take the champion-approved motorcycles, support them with great financing, pro-level amateur dealer support and offer bonuses for successful amateur and pro racers, and sales are bound to be strong. That’s why we decided to extend this RM-Z Sales Event through August, expanding opportunities for dealers and customers.”
This week, Suzuki launched a similar program for its sport bikes, including the Hayabusa and GSX-R. The new “50 Years of Performance” sales event runs until Aug. 31 and pairs Suzuki’s aggressive zero-percent financing (covering all regular finance tiers) with the buyer’s choice of a Yoshimura slip-on exhaust muffler or Customer Cash. Team Yoshimura Suzuki Racing’s Martin Cardenas and his Suzuki GSX-R1000 lead the current AMA Superbike points race.
Lopusnak reports that Suzuki dealers nationwide are receiving several of the brand’s new scooters and motorcycles, including the redesigned-for-2013 Burgman 650 and the SFV650. These new models, as well as Suzuki’s line of KingQuad ATVs, are available at zero-percent financing. Suzuki also recently announced a 2014 lineup that expands the Suzuki Boulevard B.O.S.S. family, with vehicles arriving in late July.
In addition, Suzuki continues to encourage consumers to visit a Suzuki dealer with its “50 Years of You” sweepstakes contest, with new contests every month.
