BMW K1600 GT wins international award

Belgian motorcycle magazine Motor Wereld has named the BMW K1600 GT as “International Bike of the Year 2011.” The announcement of the award, selected by an international motorcycle press jury representing 25 magazines, came at the Brussels Motor Show.

The bike features a powerful in-line 6-cylinder engine, sophisticated technology and light handling. The K1600 GT touring motorcycle offers traction control, navigation system, adaptive headlights and electronically controlled suspension with various modes that increase active riding safety. The K1600 provides the rider with agile chassis and light handling, according to the jury.

Second place went to the Ducati Diavel, followed by the Aprilia Tuono, the BMW K1600 GTL and the BMW S1000.
