South Carolina bill would increase distance between vessels
The National Marine Manufacturers Association reports that a bill in South Carolina that would increase the distance between a PWC or vessel and a moored vessel or person in the water has been pre-filed by Rep. Chip Huggins.
This bill would require 100 feet and idle speed between a personal watercraft or vessel and a moored or anchored vessel, dock, person in the water or within 100 yards of the Atlantic coastline, according to the NMMA report.
This bill has been referred to the House Committee on Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environmental Affairs. The South Carolina legislature comes back into session on Jan. 12.
