BMW Motorrad USA sees 2010 growth

BMW Motorrad USA reported a 4 percent growth in sales in 2010, according to a release from the company.

The increase was led by BMW’s S 1000 RR superbike, which was released in February. The company also credited its dealers for the hike.

“BMW dealers did a tremendous job in 2010, despite the headwinds they faced with a tough economy,” National Sales Manager Mac McMath said in the release. “While many dealers in the country struggled last year, BMW dealers remained committed to the job at hand and worked tirelessly to capture every sale they could.”

The company expects continued growth in 2011 with the release of its new six-cylinder touring bikes, the K 1600 GT and K 1600 GTL, and its new and re-launched models.
