Powersports Business learned through reporting from VurbMoto.com that powersports online specialty retailer Dennis Kirk has been acquired by CSC Generation, a company known for acquiring distressed or underperforming retail brands and transforming them into digital-first businesses.

The Dennis Kirk acquisition expands CSC’s powersports platform, where it will sit alongside MotoSport.com as part of the Backcountry Motorsports brand. CSC acquired Backcountry in September 2024, and the Dennis Kirk acquisition is the latest in a series of CSC purchases as it strengthens its powersports portfolio.

The following statements were featured in the VurbMoto.com article.

“We were drawn to Dennis Kirk for several compelling reasons: its deep roots in the powersports community, the breadth and depth of its cruiser and snowmobile assortment, and the loyalty of the riders it’s served for more than 50 years,” — Justin Yoshimura, founder and CEO, CSC.

“Joining CSC is an exciting next chapter for Dennis Kirk,” adds Tammy Becklin, general manager of Dennis Kirk. “Our team has spent more than 50 years earning the trust of riders across the Midwest and beyond, and this partnership gives us access to resources that will help us serve them even better.”

Dennis Kirk was founded in 1969 as a snowmobile parts store and mail-order business in Rush City, Minnesota. The company eventually grew to sell a full range of powersports products, including motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs and snowmobiles. Industry records and corporate filings linked the company’s operations and board structure to Fred Fox, founder of LeMans Corporation, the parent company of Parts Unlimited and Drag Specialties. Fox died in 2023.

Dennis Kirk will continue to operate as a stand-alone brand at denniskirk.com and remain headquartered in Rush City, Minnesota, VurbMoto.com reports. Financial terms from the transaction were not disclosed.

Wedbush Securities served as exclusive financial adviser and Stafford Rosenbaum LLP served as legal adviser to the seller. The buyer’s legal adviser was Massumi + Consoli LLP.
