Ducati USA recalls more than 3,000 1098 model motorcycles

Ducati USA recalled 3,614 model year 2007-2008 1098, 1098S and 1098 Tricolore motorcycles, stated the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The recall was issued because the rear drive sprocket can fail. The NHTSA stated in the report, if the sprocket were to fail while the motorcycle is being driven, it’s possible the motorcycle will experience sudden loss of power and/or the chain might become entangled with the chassis, which can result in a crash without prior warning.
