Behind the ropes at the Southbay Motorsports SX event
Dealership hosts its largest autograph party ever
Southbay Motorsports in Chula Vista, California, was the place to be on the eve of the San Diego Supercross race. The dealership’s annual autograph party was its largest ever, and drew an equally impressive crowd.

The party began at 4 p.m., with autographs from 6-7 p.m. Music, raffles, giveaways and a BBQ all were part of the festivities at the dealership, which offers products from Ducati, Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, Can-Am, Triumph, Yamaha, Suzuki, Polaris and Sea-Doo.
“The racers got here early and stayed until every autograph seeker went through the line,” principal David Wiles told PSB. “Kawasaki handed out 100 t-shirts to the first 100 people in line. Other race teams had other gifts, and all of them had large posters of racing images of those who were signing.”

Former Supercross champion Mark Barnett was master of ceremonies. Outside, in the summer-like weather, a team of cooks provided burgers, hot dogs, chips and soda.
“We had over 500 people in attendance, and the team captains were very pleased with the entire event,” Wiles added.
Racers on hand were as follows: Justin Barcia, Mathew Bisceglia, Justin Bogle, Kyle Chisholm, Adam Cianciarulo, Christian Craig, Kyle Cunningham, Josh Grant, Brandon Hartranft, Justin Hill, Tallon Lafountaine, Alex Martin, Shane McElrath, Hayden Mellross, Henry Miller, Phil Nicoletti, Mitchell Oldenburg, Weston Peick, Dustin Pipes, Aaron Plessinger, Alex Ray, Ken Roczen, Joey Savatgy, Cole Seely, Chase Sexton, Malcolm Stewart, Bradley Taft, Eli Tomac and Cooper Webb.
