New Utah law allows ‘lane filtering’ for bikes: report
A report from KUTV details a new law in Utah that is allowing motorcyclists to “lane filter” beginning in May.
“Motorcyclists will now have the lawful ability to move in between cars when those cars are stopped,” said Sgt. Nick Street, public information officer for the Utah Highway Patrol.
The new law states that motorcyclists will be permitted to “lane filter” on roads with speed limits of 45 miles per hour or less, and they cannot travel more than 15 miles per hour while doing so.
