Yamaha GRANT to help maintain Oregon trails

Yamaha has awarded an OHV Access Initiative GRANT to the Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF), which will help maintain trails in that state, according to a published report.

Yamaha’s $12,289 GRANT (Guaranteeing Responsible Access to our Nation’s Trails) will be combined with an Oregon ATV grant and contributions from the ODF to completely fund the $165,000 project in the Tillamook State Forest, reported Salem-News.com.

The funds will go to the purchase of a new Single Track 240 machine that will be used to maintain trails inaccessible by the ODF’s current equipment. The money will also cover 534 worker hours that will be contracted for maintenance in 2011.
