Lake Norman Powersports Promotes Three-Day Coastal Ride
Charlotte, N.C.-based Sea-Doo dealer Lake Norman Powersports will be promoting a three-day excursion to the intracoastal waterway destinations of Myrtle Beach and Charleston, both in South Carolina.
The 110-mile ride, scheduled for July 17-20, is being dubbed a PWC “pleasure/adventure” trip and will focus on the social aspect of riding, according to organizers. It also will give participants an extensive look at the state’s varied coastline. Riders’ gear will be transported by the Lake Norman Powersports land team.
Cost is $135 per person, or an additional $110 for a second passenger on the same watercraft. For more information, log on to lakenormanpowersports.com.
Yamaha/Sea-Doo Fixes
Yamaha has issued a recall on its SHO model to address a driveshaft issue. The fix involves re-torquing the rear driveshaft nut. Models currently shipping should already have the fix. Models already sold, as well as those at dealers, are required to have the procedure, which is accomplished through the pump and requires hydro-locking the cylinders with oil, but does not require removal of the engine. Dealers not aware of the problem should contact Yamaha for the necessary instructions.
Sea-Doo, meanwhile, is having an issue with the supercharger hose coming off, due to a silicone lubricant applied to the hose by its supplier. Initially riders went looking for more secure clamps, but we’re told the better fix is to wipe the first two inches of the inside of the hose with a contact cleaner to remove the lubricant. Sea-Doo suggests dealers avoid roughening up the inside of the hose, as has been suggested on Internet sites. psB
