SYM Plans More Than 700,000 Units in 2006

Sanyang Industry Co., Ltd. (SYM) predicts an annual global production goal of 740,000 two-wheelers in 2006,
The Taiwan-based company, which also targets 2006 total revenue of NT$35 billion ($1.09 billion), said overseas production should account for the production of approximately 380,000 units.
SYM plans to open a two-wheeler assembly plant in Indonesia this month; and recently acquired an 11.18 percent stake in Kinetic Motor of India, where production of 100cc and 125cc scooters will take place. The company also operates a major factory in Vietnam, the Vietnam Manufacturing and Export Processing Co. Ltd.
