BRP recalls Ski-Doo and Can-Am heated gloves and batteries
BRP is recalling 1,650 pairs of Ski-Doo and Can-Am lithium-ion rechargeable batteries and heated gloves due to a fire hazard.
The recall affects 450 pairs in the U.S. and 1,200 in Canada. BRP has received three reports of the batteries overheating while charging. Two of the reports came from Canada, and one was in the U.S. In two of those instances, minor property damage was reported, though no one was injured.
The gloves were available in black and sold with two lithium-ion batteries and a charger. They have Ski-Doo or Can-Am on the pointer finger and on the wristband of the glove. They came in sizes XS-3XL, with the battery back located in the zipped pouch on the gloves’ wrists. Lithium-ion batteries were also sold separately.
Consumers will be reimbursed the paid price up to $199.99 plus tax for a returned charger and two battery packs. A full reimbursement of the paid price up to $49.99 plus taxes will be offered for the return of additional two battery packs.
