AMA Pro Racing hires ex-Ducati exec Lock as consultant

AMA Pro Racing is announcing the hiring of longtime motorcycle and automotive executive Michael Lock to serve as a strategic business consultant. Lock will help AMA Pro Racing with strategic short-, medium- and long-term plans for the company and the professional motorcycle racing disciplines that the company sanctions.

“Michael’s track record of success is unparalleled,” said Michael Gentry, Chief Operating Officer of AMA Pro Racing. “The experience in motorcycle and automotive brand leadership he brings will be invaluable as we move toward achieving our goals.”

Lock’s experience in corporate leadership and business development dates back more than 30 years and includes executive roles with top brands in the motorcycling and automobile industries. After starting his career in sales and marketing with Honda UK and Honda Motor Europe, he joined the newly reformed Triumph Motorcycles and established the United States subsidiary of the famous brand in 1994. Next, Lock served as CEO for Ducati North America for eight years, sitting on the board of the American Motorcyclist Association for three of those years. Most recently, the Englishman served as COO of Automobili Lamborghini Americas, where he was responsible for expanding the business, developing strategic partnerships and cultivating the image of the famous Italian brand.

“I’m excited to be working with the AMA Pro Racing team,” Lock said. “There is a great opportunity to build motorcycle sport in the USA and appeal to a whole new generation of fans.”
