Piaggio seeks Vespa dealers in India

Piaggio has launched a dealer search in India for its Vespa line. On its Indian website, the company states, “Piaggio India is looking for a circle of extraordinary dealers to promote the soon-to-be-launched Vespa range in India.”

The company requires that each dealership have 175-200 square meters (575-650 square feet) of showroom space and the same size “workshop” space, as well as 12-15 meters (39-49 feet) of frontage. Dealers are expected to be customer-centric, have a strategic location and automobile experience is preferable. Interested dealers are asked to visit www.piaggio.co.in and complete an Expression of Interest form as well as email or mail a brief profile to the company’s general manager of channel and business development.

Piaggio announced last June that is plans to begin selling the Vespa LX 125 in India by the end of 2012. The company is constructing a facility in the country that could produce 150,000 units per year.
