Triumph recalls some 2010 Thunderbirds

Triumph Motorcycles America Ltd. has recalled nearly 2,000 Thunderbird motorcycles because the front fenders may not be properly secured.

The front fender mountings on the affected motorcycles were built with incompatible thread locker and screw combinations. The concern is the screws may loosen and the screw heads will contact the side wall of the front tire, causing the tire to deflate. Affected units include some 2010 Thunderbirds with and without ABS. No injuries or accidents were reported with the recalls.

Dealers will install new screws on the front fender mounting of affected bikes. Triumph did not announce an owner notification schedule with the recall.
