CFMOTO launches 1000 UTV with $13,999 MSRP

CFMOTO USA revealed its 2017 ATV and side-by-side lineup last week in front of nearly 50 U.S. dealers at the manufacturer’s headquarters in Hangzhou, China. The dealer meeting was equal parts business and pleasure, with two days at the factory followed by another two days in either Beijing or Shanghai. Powersports Business editor in chief Dave McMahon was the lone media member invited, and will provide reports in the coming days about the whirlwind adventure.

The star of the trip, no doubt, was the all-new 2017 ZForce 1000 EPS and its $13,999 MSRP. It’s a pumped up version of the ZForce 800 power plant, and offers CV Tech clutching instead of a wet clutch. The ZForce 1000 boasts a 77 horsepower engine, and perhaps more importantly, 82 foot-pounds of torque. It comes with 14-inch aluminum alloy wheels and 27-inch mud tires. New seats provide better gripping and stitching. The unit also provides easier access to the oil dipstick for service and maintenance.

Dealer demo rides on a muddy dirt track across the street from the 1.6 million square-foot factory brought back chatter of noticeable bottom-end gains and improved power. Those dealers with trail riding customers were ready to sell.

Another hit among the dealers was the all-new CForce 500 S EPS ATV. Built on the CForce 400 chassis, it provides additional power with the 500 H.O. motor. It comes standard with a 2,500-pound winch and 12-inch aluminum alloy wheels and is only offered in an EPS version. It’s $5,199 MSRP also sat well with dealers.
