Ducati Motor Holding S.p.A. has announced the winners of the “Design Your Dream Ducati” contest, the competition launched one year ago to offer all enthusiasts of the marque the chance to submit their own interpretation of the Ducati bike of the future.
The overall winners of the two categories, “Bike” and “Non Bike”, are: Bike — ‘Flat Red’ by Jems Von Brauck; Non Bike — ‘Artificial Heart’ by Steve Gummer, a small, strong, lightweight, highly tuned and perfectly engineered artificial organ built around Ducati’s desmodromic system.
The jury was made up of Decio Carugati, journalist and design expert, and Miguel Sal, head of a leading Italian advertising agency.
The competition, which Ducati says was designed to “foster, encourage and promote passion, talent and imagination in the world of motorcycle racing,” included thousands of designs sent in from all over the world. The two overall winners, Jems Von Brauck and Steve Gummer, will each receive a Ducati motorcycle as their prize.
Ducati says the winning designs will be shown on its Web site, www.ducati.com. psb
