Industry-wide event hones in on dealer profitability
LAS VEGAS — Approximately 300 members of the industry received an in-depth look at key issues affecting dealership profitability during the recently held Profit Xcelerator.
The annual event, hosted by Powersports Business at the Las Vegas’ Red Rock Resort & Casino, brought together executives from the dealership, manufacturer and dealer service provider sectors of the industry. Dealers from more than 30 states attended the educational conference and expo on Oct. 15-17, which also drew representatives from at least seven vehicle manufacturers and more than 30 other industry companies.
Attendees — which included Harley-Davidson, metric and European dealers — took in 15 seminars and panels, each of which explored a key dealership profit center. Areas that seminars explored included online lead management, the preowned market, sales department training, F&I compliance and lending tips, low-cost marketing tools and much more.
“I took quite a bit from the conference and have already begun to implement ideas I brought back from Vegas. Congratulations on hosting such an important and well-executed conference,” said Barry Eisenberg, general manager of Greater Boston Motorsports, a Massachusetts multibrand dealership.
ProfitX attendees also enjoyed two separate networking receptions that included officials from all parts of the industry, including the leading national retail lenders.
“I was hoping it would be a valuable networking opportunity for us and it certainly was!” said Tom Collins, executive vice president and managing director of industry retail lender FreedomRoad Financial.
