Moto Guzzi Celebrates 85 Years

Moto Guzzi is celebrating the 85th anniversary of its founding by Carlo Guzzi.
To herald this landmark, from now through November 15, Moto Guzzi USA will host special dealer test rides for interested customers. When customers visit their local Moto Guzzi dealer for a test ride on a Moto Guzzi Griso or Breva, they will receive a free Limited Edition 85th Anniversary Commemorative T-shirt.
“We created this promotion to encourage motorcyclists to come out and experience what makes the Moto Guzzi such an amazing motorcycle,” said Rick Panettieri, brand manager, Moto Guzzi USA. “The Moto Guzzi Breva and Griso models have received excellent reviews and yet maintain that classic Moto Guzzi character. With all the new technology incorporated into these machines people need to ride one to truly appreciate it.”
Moto Guzzi became part of the Piaggio Group in December 2004.
The Piaggio Group’s significant push to re-launch Moto Guzzi through an updated distribution network and impressive series of new model launches has led to a rebound in worldwide sales for the brand. Worldwide sales went up by 76 percent in 2005 compared to 2004, and by a further 70 percent in the first half of 2006.
Worldwide sales of more than 10,000 Moto Guzzi brand bikes are forecast for 2006. The objective is to reach sales of 20,000 bikes in one year.
