Connecticut Offers Kawasaki $12 Million Contract
The state of Connecticut awarded a $12 million contract to Kawasaki Rail Car Inc. to inspect and refurbish 33 recently purchased passenger rail cars.
The rail cars were purchased from the state of Virginia in October 2004 for $13.4 million as part of an effort to increase seating capacity on the Connecticut commuter rail system. Work on the cars is expected to begin this spring and be completed in 2007.
