Women & Motorcycling Conference, June 30-July 3

The 2006 AMA/FIM International Women & Motorcycling Conference presented by Harley-Davidson & Buell, is scheduled to be held June 30 through July 3, 2006, in Athens, Ga.
The 2006 AMA/FIM International Women & Motorcycling Conference will feature a slate of guest speakers and seminars; an array of new-product vendors; guided and self-guided tours of the Athens region; live entertainment, and a skills day with the Kevin Schwantz Suzuki School at Road Atlanta. Plus, Harley-Davidson, Buell, BMW, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha plan to offer demo rides free to conference participants.
The first three AMA Women & Motorcycling Conferences were held in 1997, 2000, and 2002. Nearly 700 women and men representing nearly every U.S. state and several foreign countries attended the 2002 conference. Organizers say the 2006 conference is expected to draw 1,000 people.
The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) is planning the conference with partners Motor Maids, Women in the Wind, Women on Wheels, Women’s International Motorcycle Association-USA, Women’s Motorcyclist Foundation, Femmoto, Ebony Angels and MXGirls.com.
The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) will be the title sponsor of the conference, and Harley-Davidson Motor Company and Buell will be the event’s presenting sponsor.
