Dealer Expo Organizers Suggest Record Attendance

Although official figures are not yet in, organizers of the International Powersports Dealer Expo say the event, held Feb. 18-20 in Indianapolis, may have achieved record attendance.
Produced by Advanstar, the Dealer Expo attracted 21,148 attendees in 2005. This year, roughly 25,000 people had pre-registered for the event by the end of January,
Advanstar said the exhibitor base grew as well – from 970 companies in 2005 to 1,018 in 2006. A number of companies did not return in 2006. Still, the exhibitor base was buoyed by the more than 200 companies new to the event.
Trends at the Dealer Expo included an explosion in products for the expanding utility-terrain vehicle (UTV) market; an increase in apparel designed specifically for women; and, amazingly, an ever-growing pool of products offered by manufacturers from China.
