America’s PowerSports Enters Georgia

America’s PowerSports, Inc. (APS), a leading national powersports dealer group, acquired its 16th and 17th dealer locations via the recent purchase of Motosports of Canton, located north of Atlanta, and Motosports of Jonesboro, located south of Atlanta.
Carrying both the Honda and SeaoDoo brands, Motosports of Jonesboro opened in 1995. The store is approximately 12,600 sq. ft. and has 20 employees. Motosports of Canton opened in 2000 and was turned into an exclusive Honda Powerhouse dealership in 2004. The store is approximately 25,000 sq. ft. and has 19 employees.
The original owners of both Motosports dealerships, Ted and Rod Stuckey, have operated the stores for about 11 years. Ted Stuckey was interested in selling the dealerships so that he could fully enjoy his retirement. Rod Stuckey, Ted’s son, will continue on as the General Manager of both locations.
“I’m excited about the additional resources that APS brings to the table and the ability to network with other successful dealers,” said Rod Stuckey. “I plan on utilizing APS resources in everything from Marketing, Finance and Insurance, Used Inventory, Parts and Accessories and Fixed Operations.”
Formed in November 1998 and headquartered in Nashville, APS is one of the nation’s largest retail powersports dealer networks. The company’s 17 stores in eight states represent major brands including Harley-Davidson, Honda, BMW, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, SeaoDoo, Polaris and Arctic Cat.
“When I first visited both of the Motosports locations, I knew there was a match between their current management team and our business model,” said Clark Vitulli, President and CEO of APS. “They already have in place a good foundation of proven practices and customer service related skills. The management team at America’s PowerSports will simply help Rod Stuckey and his team take their solid performance to the next level by capitalizing on a comprehensive knowledge base and additional resources that America’s PowerSports Corporate Support Team has developed.”
