Illinois Awards $127,200 for Snowmobile Trails
Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich has awarded $127,200 in grants for improvement and maintenance to the state’s snowmobile trails.
The governor says enhancement projects are aimed at ensuring snowmobile riders’ safety on public-access trails.
The money will go to ten local governments and snowmobile organizations. The grant program is entirely funded by snowmobilers’ registration fees, priced at $18 dollars for a three-year permit. About 44,000 sleds are registered in the state.
