Japan Cycle Production Up 3%

Japan’s motorcycle manufacturers produced 136,350 units in July, up 3,999 units or 3.0% compared with the 132,351 total registered in July 2004, according to the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA).
The organization said 88,452 units were shipped during the month, down 1,490 units or -1.7% compared with 89,942 units shipped during July 2004.
The total value of motorcycles exported for July 2005 was $462.48 million – $340.28 million for vehicles and $122.2 million for parts – an increase of $62.39 million or 15.6% compared with $400.09 million recorded for the same month of the previous year.
