Tucker Rocky Acquires FirstGear Brand
Tucker Rocky Distributing has acquired the FirstGear brand of apparel and accessories from Fairchild Sports, and began handling all inquiries regarding FirstGear sales and distribution as of August 19. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Texas-based Tucker Rocky has distributed the FirstGear brand for 25 years. Officials at Tucker Rocky say they “will invest heavily to build upon FirstGear’s long-standing reputation as a premium line of leather and textile street garments.”
“All of the elements that have made FirstGear the number one brand in its category – quality materials and construction, attractive new designs with innovative features, strong dealer support, effective consumer advertising, and reliable customer service – will remain central to Tucker Rocky’s accelerating growth strategy for the brand,” read a prepared statement.
Fairchild Sports, a unit of The Fairchild Corporation, is comprised of Hein Gericke, PoloExpress and the Fairchild Sports location in Tustin, Calif. Fairchild Sports designs and sells motorcycle protective apparel, helmets and a large selection of technical accessories for motorcyclists under owned brands and for private label third parties.
