Cycle Country expands facility

Cycle Country Accessories Corp. (OTCBB: CYCY), the Milford, Iowa, developer and manufacturer of ATV accessories, has added a 28,000 sq. ft. expansion for manufacturing, production, shipping and warehouse operations.
Plans call for the company’s Perf-form Products, located in Big Lake, Minn., to be moved to the expanded Milford facility where it is expected to begin operations in February, 2003. Cycle Country says the move will “significantly increase” manufacturing capacity while reducing manufacturing costs for the Perf-form oil filter and cooler product lines.
Cycle Country has developed an extensive line of branded snowplows, lawnmowers, spreaders, sprayers, hitches and many other utility equipment items, along with recreational accessories.
Cycle Country products are distributed by16 distributors in North America and 19 international distributors that deal in 40 countries throughout Asia, Europe, Central and South America.
EFI in an Arctic ATV?
Arctic Cat, Inc., Thief River Falls, Minn., has developed an EFI (electronic fuel injection) system for ATV engines, but company officials say implementation still hinges on the feedback it receives from its dealer base and consumers.
If utilized, the addition would make Arctic Cat the first ATV manufacturer to implement an EFI system on a utility class ATV. Cannondale, which plans to sell its powersports operation (see story on Page 1), had been running an EFI on its race-bred sport quads.
“Developed internally with a major fuel system supplier, our R&D teams have been running ATV models with the EFI system in place for quite some time now,” said Ole Tweet, Arctic Cat’s vice president of new product development, in a prepared statement.
“Should we decide to move forward, consumers could see a fuel injected Arctic ATV within a six-to-twelve month time frame.”
The company says consumers would see a price premium for an Arctic Cat ATV with EFI technology, and says initial product offerings would be found in the larger displacement Arctic Cat ATVs.
Interstate Completes Merger
Interstate National Dealer Services, Inc., Uniondale, N.Y., (NASDAQ: ISTN), a nationwide provider of service contracts and extended warranties to the powersports industry, says it has completed its merger with CHL Holdings Corp., a company owned by Cindy H. Luby, Interstate’s chief operating officer and a director.
Under the merger agreement, first announced Sept. 26, Interstate will be merged with CHL, with Interstate as the surviving entity. The merger gives the Luby family complete ownership of Interstate. The merger was approved by stockholders holding more than 56% of Interstate’s outstanding shares. As a result of the transaction, Interstate’s sec-
urities have been de-listed from Nasdaq and
the company will no longer be required to file reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
