Yamaha reveals Stay Outdoors Program grant recipients

Yamaha Financial Services has announced that almost $100,000 will be distributed to the first recipients of the Stay Outdoors Program grant. Five non-profit organizations from across the country will receive donations supporting their conservation, education, access and/or sustainable use initiatives.

“We are truly excited to be involved on the ground, supporting innovative, impactful projects addressing issues facing motorized outdoor recreation across Canada,” said James Matthews, vice president of Yamaha Financial Services. “These groups are working diligently to ensure enthusiasts can enjoy all this country has to offer now and for years to come. We are honored to be a part of that.”

The grants for 2022 have been awarded to five applicants:

• East Prince Quad Trax ATV Club (PEI) – building a sustainable multi-use trail on one of the original settlement roads of PEI with an environmental approach.

• Elk Valley Adventure & Dirt Riders Society (BC) – restoring/enhancing 12 kilometers of family-friendly motorized single-track trails.

• Victoria Beach Snow Drifters (MB) – moving trail system to Crown and RM of Alexander land to ensure a safe, maintained trails for all riders.

• Fundy Trail Snowmobile Club (NS) – repairing all-season, multi-use (motorized and non-motorized) trail, providing access to fuel and food.

• Avalon T’Railway Corporation (NL) – distributing ATV-related safety equipment to schools, groups and enthusiasts in co-operation with the RCMP.

The 2023 Stay Outdoors grant program will open in early Summer. Clubs, associations and other eligible groups are encouraged to work together with their local Yamaha dealer to identify projects and apply for support.
