Dealership closing after 36 years
A three-time Powersports Business Power 50 dealership announced in a recent enewsletter to its customers that after 36 years and 15,000 units sold, it will be closing. Killeen Power Sports owners Jim and Linda Foster will be looking forward to some well-earned R&R while they continue to operate Indian Motorcycle of Bell County.
From its I-14 location near Fort Hood, Killeen Power Sports has been a staple in the Central Texas dealership landscape, most recently offering Honda, SSR Motorsports, Suzuki and Triumph.
The owners are seeking new homes for their current brands, with OEM warranties and maintenance plans being honored through Indian Motorcycle of Bell County.
The store plans to go out in style with its customers taking center stage at Bike Night on Sept. 20 to celebrate 36 years in operation. Also that day, the first-ever (and only) KPS Garage Sale gets underway and will continue throughout the fall. A lifetime of items related to the business will be available at bargain prices, including:
- Select Liquidation Merchandise
- Office Equipment, Furniture, and Fixtures
- Service-related Tools, Equipment, and Supplies
The dealership wrapped up its announcement with the following:
“Serving the recreational needs and wants of Central Texas has been the work and (often) pleasure of a lifetime. We hope that you will stop by the shop over the next few months and help us say goodbye..”
