Pre-owned side-by-side registrations strong through May: study

Data from Statistical Surveys Inc., provided exclusively to Powersports Business shows the trends of pre-owned side-by-side registrations with state DMVs from January through May 2019 compared to the year-ago period.

If you’re a dealership with customers who reside in one particular area, you are seeing strong gains with pre-owned UTVs. The Louisville Basic Trading Area (BTA) leads the way in pre-owned registrations with growth of 25 percent vs. the year-ago period.

Provo-Orem in Utah also has had pre-owned UTV success, with a 22.7 percent increase in registrations. Overall, the nationwide growth in registrations of pre-owned side-by-sides is 13.3 percent from January-May 2019 vs. Jan-May 2018.
