Harden named brand ambassador

Motorcycle industry veteran Scot Harden has been named named a brand ambassador and official test rider for an adventure/sport touring motorcycle brand, First Gear USA.

Harden will represent the brand at events such as The Colorado 600, the KTM Adventure Rider Rally, AIMExpo, press functions and other activities throughout the year. In addition, he will be posting special features and blogs on his website and in social media about his experience with First Gear.

From the testing side, Harden logs a tremendous number of miles per year. Everything from short daily rides, to rides across the hot southwest desert, and up into the Rockies of Colorado. His experience evaluating product and putting it to use in some of the most extreme elements a rider will face, all while being able to provide detailed feedback, will benefit the brand.

“I’m very excited to be working with the team at First Gear,” Harden said. “First Gear is one of the most iconic brands in all of adventure as well as sport touring motorcycling. They are currently making a serious effort to expand their product line and re-establish their position in the marketplace. Their goals align perfectly with my passion for adventure motorcycling and I look forward to helping them elevate the brand, and most importantly, develop product that adventure/sport touring motorcyclists will genuinely appreciate.”

In his quest to conquer the world’s most extreme off-road challenges, Harden has traveled throughout North and South America, Europe, and Africa, earning titles and building a reputation as one of the U.S.’s most versatile off-road racers. He’s a multi-time Baja 1000, Baja 500, Parker 400, Las Vegas 400, SCORE and Best In The Desert champion. In addition, Harden is a three-time ISDE medalist and member of the U.S. Trophy Team.

In 1987 he became the first American to win a North African Raid Rally when he won the Djerba Rally in Tunisia. In 2004 and 2005 he managed and rode for the Red Bull/KTM US Dakar Rally team, finishing 17th overall in 2005.

In addition to his racing career, Harden is a respected motorcycle industry executive playing key roles in companies like KTM, Husqvarna and Zero Motorcycles. He was inducted into the AMA Hall of Fame in 2008 and will be inducted into the Trailblazers Hall of Fame in 2020.
