LiveWire being carried by 150 U.S. Harley-Davidson dealerships
More than 250 authorized Harley-Davidson dealers globally are offering the LiveWire motorcycle, including 150 in the U.S. As its portfolio of electric two-wheelers grows, Harley-Davidson expects to gradually expand the number of global Harley-Davidson dealers offering electric two-wheelers with the goal of placing them in all interested dealerships by 2022.
Dealership support aligns with the company’s commitment to build the next generation of Harley-Davidson riders, in part by leading the electrification of the motorcycle market. Electric two-wheelers represent an exciting new opportunity for Harley-Davidson and its dealers, and those dealers participating in electrification are ready to capture the passion of innovation and technology and incorporate it into an excellent purchase and service experience.
Authorized Harley-Davidson dealers preparing to offer the LiveWire motorcycle are required to have a specially trained Harley-Davidson Master Motorcycle Technician on staff to provide exemplary service. Dealer technicians become familiar with the technology, safety and service specific to the LiveWire through a series of Harley-Davidson University digital training sessions, followed by a two-day hands-on LiveWire seminar through Harley-Davidson University. At least one sales associate from each dealership offering the LiveWire model will also attend special training courses through Harley-Davidson University.
Each authorized Harley-Davidson dealership offering the LiveWire model has installed at least one 24kW DC Fast Charge (DCFC) charging station at their facility. The LiveWire motorcycle may be charged through a SAE J1772 connector (or CCS2 – IEC type 2 charging connector in European and some other international markets) at any compatible DC fast charging station. DC Fast Charge technology provides a 0-80 percent of battery charge in 40 minutes or 0-100 percent charge in 60 minutes. The LiveWire motorcycle is equipped with an on-board Level 1 charger that plugs into a standard household outlet using a special power cord designed to fit under the seat.
