PWC new unit sales coming off pair of strong months

Those positively trending powersports trends we’ve been seeing in recent months apparently have been given a boost by Q4 sales of personal watercraft, as PWC dealers on average are coming off strong months of October and November, according to data supplied to Powersports Business.

The National Marine Manufacturers Association reports that registrations for new PWC were up 7.6 percent on a rolling 12 months, year-over-year basis.

The Yamaha WaveRunner GP1800 boosted PWC sales in Q4.

Meanwhile, Statistical Surveys Inc. retail data shows that for the 29 early reporting states, November new PWC sales rose by 10.5 percent compared to November 2017. That number shines even stronger when considering the 14.3 percent increase in November 2017 vs. November 2016.

SSI data reflects new U.S. retailed and registered units.
