Motorcycles added as Mint 400 expands to two days of off-road racing

For the first time since 1976, motorcycles will return to The Mint 400 and compete on a single-track course designed to challenge even the most seasoned desert moto racers. The addition of bikes and a second day of racing is expected to draw an even greater pool of race teams and thousands more spectators, once again solidifying the Mint 400 as the biggest and best off-road race on the planet.

The Mint 400 Announces New Two-Day Race Format

2019 Schedule of Events includes racing on Saturday, March 9 and Sunday, March 10

The Mint 400 owners Matt and Joshua Martelli announced today that “The Great American Off-Road Race” will be return to Las Vegas on Wednesday, March 6 and run through Sunday March 10, 2019.

The already massive off-road festival will once again expand by featuring two days of thrilling off-road racing on both Saturday, March 9 and Sunday, March 10, with pre-race festivities beginning earlier that week.

For the first time since 1976, motorcycles will return to The Mint and compete on a singletrack course designed to challenge even the most seasoned desert moto racers. The addition of bikes and a second day of racing is expected to draw an even greater pool of race teams and thousands more spectators, once again solidifying the Mint 400 as the biggest and best off-road race on the planet.

Other improvements to the famed contest include moving driver registration to a brand new digital web based format and final in-person registration will move down to the Mint 400 Main Stage area on Fremont Street – making in person verification a breeze during tech and contingency. The media and safety meetings will take place in front of the main stage this year as well.

Race registration for The Mint 400 will first open to all racers signed up for the 2019 Parker 250 or Parker 425 on Tuesday, December 18 at 10:00AM PST. The advanced registration period will last until Saturday, January 5 at 12:00am PST – when registration will open to all teams.

All of the marquee Mint 400 events will remain in the same position as previous years including the second annual Mint 400 Desert Clean-Up on Saturday March 2. The Mint 400 Legends Rally, and the world famous Mint 400 Vehicle Procession and Dinner of Champions will all return on Wednesday, March 6. Time Trials will remain on Thursday, March 7, along with Day 1 of the Mint 400 Off-Road Festival, including the Driver Meet and Greet, Miss Mint Crowning and Pit Crew Challenge later that night. Then Friday, March 8, it’s a second day of tech and contingency and the media and drivers meetings, which will all be held at the Mint 400 Main Stage, and will be open to the public for viewing. Racing will take place Saturday, March 9, and Sunday, March 10, from 6am to Midnight, and the drivers awards banquet will take place on Monday, March 11.
