MTA Distributing/Motovan hosts annual Sales Meeting

Shoei, TCX and Cardo among new vendors that exhibited, trained reps

With an eager band of 40 sales reps from MTA Distributing and 29 more from Canada-based Motovan, the two distributors held their annual Winter Sales Meeting for reps and vendors at Disney’s Grand California Hotel in Anaheim, California.

MTA’s growing vendor lineup included the debut of Cardo/Scala, which officially launched as a brand partner at the meeting. More than 40 vendors exhibited.

“Our 2018 Winter Sales Meeting was better than expected. Our vendors were really prepared and did and excellent job training our reps on their product lines,” MTA president Greg Blackwell said. “We welcomed new vendors like Shoei, TCX and Cardo while our industry-leading established vendors like Yoshimura, Bridgestone and Continental all had exciting new product to discuss. Our reps are pumped and ready to get the new year rolling.”

Liqui Moly showed off a new dealer display cabinet for oils and additives, and shared news that the company had just re-signed a deal with MOTO GP to be the exclusive oil for Moto2 and Moto3. A dealer incentive trip from Liqui Moly to the MOTO GP race at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, also was launched.

Olympia recapped its 2018 product lineup and revealed a new leather line for street and the North Bay line of heated snow apparel.

Five Gloves discussed new product development and display options for to optimize dealer display space.

STI Tire and Wheel debuted its new ATV/UTV Track and Trail tire line.

The vendor turnout at MTA was strong and included plenty of new products for the 2018 season.

TCX discussed its 24/7 line of casual wear that still boasts toe/ankle and heel safety while still being a daily functional shoe.

SHOEI showed the Neotech II and the progress of helmet safety and function.

Jeff Laird, national marketing manager for MTA Distributing, reports that the company is continuing to grow its lineup of aftermarket parts and accessories in the snow, off-road and moto segments.

Olympia Motorsports provided thorough commentary on the features and benefits of its lineup, as did Zox helmet, the SHOT motocross brand and TCX boots. SHOT will be launching vented gear for the first time in the U.S. for 2018. SHOT also has a helmet line making its U.S. debut.

Slasher Performance revealed its popular quad racks and winches.

Laird added that the distributor’s apparel lineup has made impressive gains. Growing from SHOT, Zox and Olympia, MTA now offers boots, shoes and a high-end helmet line to outfit the rider from head to toe. 

Five Gloves showed off its commitment as a motorcycle-gloves-only company.
